Gender Advocates call for revival of debate on passage of Intestate succession Bill
Weeks after Parliament put on hold the new Intestate Succession Bill, gender advocates have sent an SOS to Parliament to revive the debate.

The Bill which was laid in Parliament in October 2009 when passed into law, will replace the Intestate Succession Act of 1988.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, the Chairperson of Leadership Advocacy for Women in Africa, LAWA - GHANA, Shiela Minka-Premo who spoke on behalf of gender advocates refuted allegations by the Constitutional Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee that there has not been enough consultation on the bill and therefore there is the need for more consultation before its passage.
