The Daily Graphic expresses joy at the assurance by the EC Chairman to Parliament that he will ensure that the one million potential voters who were registered during the Biometric voters Registration and were no given polling stations are addressed. The paper says the EC must be very transparent in carrying out the verification process so that the exercise will be acceptable to all the political parties. It notes that already some political parties are not satisfied with the way the biometric voter registration was carried out in some areas. This makes it imperative that the EC will involve the various political parties in the verification exercise to ensure transparency.

The Ghanaian Times comments on the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day which was marked last Friday. It expresses concern about the neglect, violence meted out to the elderly which it says is unacceptable and an abuse of their dignity and Human Rights. The Times says most of these elderly men and women rendered invaluable services to the country in diverse ways. It is therefore appropriate that they are accorded the honour due them. The Times calls on government and all relevant bodies and agencies to design more effective preventive strategies and stringent laws to address all aspects of elder abuse.
