The Daily Graphic calls on the AMA, the Environmental Protection Agency and other regulatory institutions to act swiftly to stop the menace of scrap and the wanton pollution of the Odaw River. It says such an intervention, apart from saving the government huge sums of money that will be spent on dredging the river will also go a long way to safeguard the health of the scrap dealers. In the view of the Graphic, though it appreciate the level of unemployment challenges facing the country and also recognise the fact that the scrap business offers jobs for hundreds of people, the practice should not be allowed to continue. The paper challenges the country's scientific brains to come up with innovative and better ways of handling the scraps so that the Odaw River can be protected.

The Ghanaian Times pleads with political parties to cooperate fully with the Electoral Commission in the voter biometric registration due to take place tomorrow. It says the country's prisons are security zones and therefore the political parts must liaise with the prisons authorities for the necessary arrangement to be made to enable their agents to observe the exercise without any interference. The Times commends the EC for its steadfastness to register the prisoners.
