Ghana, South Africa reiterate commitment to deepen cooperation in all fields
Vice President of South_Africa Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe with President Atta Mills
Ghana and South Africa are working to actualise the seven agreements signed between them when President John Evans Atta Mills paid a State visit to the country in August last year.

The areas include energy, mining, defence, trade and investments.

The Deputy President of South Africa, Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe who is leading his country’s delegation on Friday called on President Mills at the Castle, Osu.

The President said Ghana values very much her relations with South Africa.

President Mills said the two countries have a common objective, which when harnessed will go a long way to improve the lives of their people.

Deputy President Motlanthe said though Ghana-South Africa relations continue to grow higher and higher, it has however not translated into volumes of trade.

This is one area he said needs to be looked at by both countries.

Vice President John Mahama and his South African counterpart and some ministers later held a bi-lateral meeting at the castle.
