Government spending for first quarter

Government raised GH¢ 3.5b in revenue for the first quarter of the year, representing a growth of 25.1% over the out-turn for the same period in 2011.

However, government's spending was about a billion Ghana cedis more than the revenue mobilized.

Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr Kwesi Amissah Arthur who announced this said Ghana’s public debt at the end of February stood at GH¢ 25.3b.
