Call to raise Ghanaian films to world standards
Movies they say, are the mirrors of society. But how far has Ghana's movie industry mirrored society for the needed impact.

The Ghanaian Film Industry has told stories from love, greed, witchcraft to politics, but it has been bashed for overly dissemination of negative stereotypes such as sex, drugs and witchcrafts.

The Rector of the National Film and Television Institute, NAFTI, Professor Linus Abrahams, however says, the time is ripe to create a cinema of substance that will enter the global market of film and television.

He said such in roads can only be achieved with a major policy framework from government and the private sector.

Professor Abraham was speaking at the opening of this year's Ghanaian Motion Picture Industry Lectures.
