Osu, Teshie and Prampram celebrate Homowo
The people of Teshie and Osu have marked their annual Homowo, a festival that promotes peace and unity in both communities.
The celebration at Teshie was peaceful but that of Osu was marred with confusion and misunderstanding.
The confusion was over which of the two kings in Osu should sprinkle the festival meal, Kpokpoi. The Kings are Nii Nortey Owuo and Nii Nortey Dowuona.
In a related development, the Paramount Chief of Prampram, Nene Tetteh Gyan, has expressed worry about the indiscriminate sale of Prampram lands to strangers.
He said some family heads have sold lands to individuals with active support from the Lands Commission.
This according to Nene Tetteh Gyan has made land acquisition very risky.
The Paramount Chief expressed these sentiments when he interacted with newsmen who witnessed the Homowo celebrations.
