The Ghanaian Times suggests an extension of the period for exhibition of the voters’ register. It says this will make more room for data corrections and also whip up public enthusiasm in the programme. The paper reminds the public that the SMS facility must not be relied on solely for the verification exercise since it does not guarantee conclusive information on their identity cards. The Times stresses that the upcoming election is very crucial and therefore, the Electoral Commission and other stakeholders must endeavour to put their houses in order to avoid unnecessary chaos on Election Day.

The Today newspaper stresses the need for politicians to respect the church. The comment is in connection with the brouhaha between the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the National Democratic Congress, NDC after the church indicated that the timing of the creation of the new constituencies was wrong, which did not go down well with the NDC. The paper is of the conviction that the church has every moral right to comment on issues of the State once members of political parties are also members of the church. The paper says in as much as it is calling on politicians to respect the leadership of the body of Christ, it is also incumbent on representatives of the church to conduct themselves in such a manner that would attract a reciprocal gesture from the State.
