The Minister of Health, Alban Bagbin, has appealed to members of the Government Hospitals Pharmacists Association,GHOSPA not to withdraw their services as a tool in seeking redress to their grievances.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Directorate of the Ministry indicates that at a marathon meeting with the Minister in his office yesterday, he acknowledged with gratitude the cooperative attitude of GHOSPA Executives and the entire membership throughout the process of negotiations with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, FWSC and the NLC.

The Minister further stated that a lot has already been achieved towards a final and more enduring solution to the whole issue of premiums and distortions in the relativities of the salary structure for GHOSPA members.

He therefore called on the FWSC to expedite action on the matter.

The statement said, the Minister has therefore appealed to the members of GHOSPA to exercise patience to allow the relevant authorities to find a final and lasting solution to their grievances.

Additionally, he appealed to GHOSPA to consider the interest of the patients who queue up daily at their facilities for medicines and refrain from embarking on the strike.
