The Ghanaian Times agrees with the President John Dramani Mahama when he admonished Muslim youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to forment trouble during this election period. The paper wonders why those politicians do not use their own children in such baseless and unwarranted conflicts. According to the paper, the demise of Prof. Mills, a man many described as the King of Peace, should bring Ghanaians together as one people with the common purpose of moving the country forward. The Times concludes by emphasising that politics is not a ‘do and die' affair, and just like a football match, there is bound to be a winner and a loser. There is therefore the need for politicians to play the game fairly without any form of intimidation.

The Daily Guide writes on a similar topic and is happy that President Mahama touched on the subject yesterday. The paper however calls on the President to go beyond urging men in Zongo communities to resist such calls from politicians to using his office as Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces to clip the wings of such ‘macho’ men. The Daily Guide also condemns political parties that encourage this phenomenon.
