Typhoon Haikui kills five in eastern China
Typhoon Haikui has brought torrential rain and gale force winds to Shanghai.

Some roads in the city now look more like rivers. Buildings have been damaged, telegraph poles downed and one district was left without power.

The typhoon has forced millions of people out of their homes across eastern China and at least five people have reportedly been killed.

In Dongling village, raging torrents left more than four thousand people stranded – half of them tourists.

Drinking water supplies have also been destroyed in the village and some roads are blocked.

Haykui is the third typhoon to lash eastern China in a week.
