Prices of sachet and bottled water to increase by 20%
The price of pure water is expected to go up by 20% effective on Tuesday.

The Bottled and Sachet Water Producers Association say the price increase has become necessary due to the upward adjustment in water and electricity tariffs by the Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission, PURC.

The adjustment will increase the price of pure water which currently sells at 10 pesewas to 12 pesewas, but due to the refusal of consumers to use the one pesewas which is brown in colour, it is most likely to now sell at 15 pesewas.
