2013 WASSCE confronts challenges
This years WASSCE which is underway is confronted with some challenges.

These range from some Heads of institutions not being able to register students who duly paid their registration fees, delaying or sacking candidates who have not fully paid their fees and searching candidates with metal detectors to prevent examination malpractices.

The latest is a report that a pregnant candidate from Lawra Senior High School was prevented from writing the examinations.

Meanwhile, the Programme Manager of the Human Rights Centre, a Rights Advocate NGO, Robert Amoafo says the law does not permit any head of Institution to prevent a student above age 16 who is pregnant from writing the examination.

Mr Amoafo insists it is an abuse of the candidate’s right.
