The two national dailies, the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times, have praised the Chief Justice for taking a bold decision to allow the broadcast of the petition at the Supreme Court challenging the 2012 presidential election. The Graphic hopes the decision will help reduce the tension over perceived misrepresentation of issues during proceedings. The paper expects that the outcome of the petition will help deepen Ghana's democracy. The paper calls on Ghanaians to prepare their minds toward the final ruling by the judges, as the decision will definitely favour a party in the case.

The Ghanaian Times says the live telecast is a plus for democracy. It says Ghana would advance its democratic credentials, if this monumental experiment succeeds. It is the hope of the paper that the parties and their supporters would abide by the decision of the Supreme Court at the end of the case.
