Printex honours Yvonne Nelson
Popular Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, was on Saturday night honored with the Printex Gowoman Award by textile giant, Printex Limited, for her contribution towards the growth of the African film industry as an actress and a producer.

The award ceremony, which was held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Accra, was also to recognize the leggy actress’ efforts towards the National Glaucoma Awareness.

She was honored alongside Minister of Children, Gender and Social Protection Nana Oye Lithur, fashion designer Aisha Obuobi popularly known as Christie Brown, and Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee, who are also achievers in their various fields of endeavor.

They all received frames with citations as well as some souvenirs from Printex and other sponsors.
The Printex Gowoman award is organized by Printex in collaboration with Gowoman magazine and Baileys to celebrate and recognize women achievers.

It was also used to launch Printex’s new fabrics and this month’s edition of the Gowoman Magazine.

The ceremony attracted some of Ghana’s respectable and enterprising women in the creative arts industry and other sectors of society.

Notable among them were Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Queen Mother Nanahemaa Adwoa Awindor, Deborah Vanessa, the Tagoe Sisters, Amanda Jissah and a host of others.

There were interesting performances by Efya with Lydia Forson as the MC of the evening of women. There were fashion displays by some rising designers and also designs by Deborah Vanessa.
