Parliament says its attention has been drawn to allegations of irregularities in the payment of emoluments under Article 71 to some Members of Parliament who also served as ministers in the immediate past administration.

A statement signed by Acting Director of Communication, Kate Addo says Parliament observes that the offence of criminality in the said matter is yet to be proven and will therefore implore the police, MPs and the public to remain calm and circumspect in their comments until the full facts of the matter are determined.

It says, in an effort to enhance transparency and accountability, Parliament pledges to cooperate fully with the law enforcement agencies to bring the matter to a conclusion.
