The people of Otropker and Aketewia in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region have been living in darkness for three weeks due to a bush fire which guttered electricity poles and cables.
Residents told GBC's Radio Ghana that the fire also burnt their farm produce such as maize, pepper, garden eggs and tomatoes.
The residents also expressed concern about the poor road network in the area which is affecting commercial activities. The situation they say, worsens during the rainy season.
Apart from the major road from Koforidua to Asesewa township which is tarred, no other road in the district is tarred.
In a related development, residents of Abuabesiase in the Yilo Krobo Municipality have also complained about the bad road network in the area.
