The Head of Department of Urban and Environmental Management of the Institute of Local Government Studies, Frederick Agyarko Oduro, has urged government to draw up a policy framework that will focus on getting the country's youth well equipped, and integrated into the national system.

Commenting on recent population figures which pegged the youth at thirty-eight point eight percent, Mr. Oduro said the prevailing conditions now, give cause for worry, noting, that governments over the years have failed to build the capacity of the youth.

He intimated that the lack of a proper youth policy has future implications.

Mr. Oduro said the increase in population among other things, calls for the setting up of more schools, more hospitals, and housing facilities. He said Ghana can take advantage of its youthful population, give them entrepreneurial skills and generate revenue from their expertise.
