The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is partnering the World Health Organisation and the Noguchi Memorial Institute to prepare for any outbreak of the Lassa Fever in Ghana, which has killed scores of people in Nigeria.
In an interview with GBC's Radio Ghana, the Director of Public Health at the Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie, said the partnership will see the Ghana Health Service supplied with drugs and relevant equipment to handle any occurrence.
Dr. Sarkodie said an intensive public education on the causes, symptoms and preventive measures on the fever will be key in fighting it.
