The Eastern Regional office of the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority (DVLA) has registered about 350 commercial and private vehicles since the beginning of the year.
The office is expected to register more than 20 percent of unregistered vehicles by the close of the year.
The Regional Manager, Eric Bentil Addison, made this known to Radio Ghana in Koforidua.
He noted that majority of Police personnel did not get time to renew their driving licenses due to the nature of their job. The DVLA was able to renew it for them through their out station services.
Mr. Bentil Addison further stated that out station services will be extended this year especially to offices for staff to have their licenses renewed and vehicles registered.
He advised drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to help reduce accidents in the country.
He also advice pedestrians to always face the oncoming vehicles when using the road and also use designated points to cross the roads.
