The Daily Graphic and the Daily Heritage discuss difficulties prepaid customers of the ECG are going through.
The Daily Graphic appeals to ECG to as a matter of urgency address the power challenges its prepaid customers are facing. According to the paper, the vital role of power plays in the socio-economic lives of Ghanaians cannot be underestimated as it is the live wire for most domestic and industrial productivity. The Graphic therefore appeals to customers to exercise restraints as efforts are made to address the problem.
The Daily Heritage for its part highlights the gloomy picture of how some Ghanaians are sleeping in darkness just because they cannot access prepaid credit even though they have the purchasing power. According to the paper, the change in weather pattern and temperature rise has also compounded the problem to the point that families have to sleep outside, because their rooms are extremely hot and unbearable to sleep in. The Heritage therefore urges the Authorities to quickly expedite action to resolve the situation so that those affected do not capitalise on the situation to connect power illegally.
The Ghanaian Times supports moves by President Akufo-Addo to construct a Rail line from Accra through Paga to Burkina Faso. This, the paper believes would promote regional integration through the easy movement of goods and services. The Times believes the construction of the rail line would reduce to the barest minimum inconveniencies created anytime the Yapei and Buipe bridges are closed for repair works.
