Former president kufuor mourns with Asantehene

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor was among a large crowd of mourners, well-wishers and sympathizers who were at the Manhyia Palace to commiserate with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu when he sat in state on day three of the two-week final funeral rites funeral rites for the late 13th Asantehemaa, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem.
Also present to pay homage to the chief mourner were some ministers of state, members of parliament, paramount chiefs of Asanteman among other dignitaries. President Akufo-Addo, his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and other state functionaries are also expected to sympathize with Asanteman and Otumfuo Osei Tutu .
This will be after the Asantehene has completed his traditional journey from the stool house at Pampaso in Kumasi to the Manhyia palace in the Batakarikesee which he wears only during funerals of either a deceased Asantehene or Asantehemaa.
A lot of local and foreign dignitaries and delegations are also expected to console the Asante overlord who happens to be the last biological child of the late Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem who passed on on November 14 last year at age 111.
Meanwhile, all basic schools are to close down Today, Monday, December 4 as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing final funeral rites for the late 13th Asantehemaa.
