Mugabe will play elder statesman role in Zimbabwe, says mediator

The Jesuit priest who helped to negotiate the resignation of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe says Mr Mugabe will continue to have a role to play in the country's politics.
Speaking to the BBC the Jesuit priest Father Fidelis Mukonori said Mr Mugabe will continue to provide "advice" as an elder statesman especially to the new president.
The priest said Mr Mugabe and his wife Grace will remain in their house in Harare adding that they have no plans to leave the country.
