Over 100 trafficked children rescued on Volta Lake this year

More than one hundred children being trafficked over the Volta Lake have been rescued this year through the collaborative efforts of the International Justice Mission, the Gender Ministry and the Ghana Police Service.
This came to the fore when a delegation led by the President of the International Justice Mission paid a courtesy call on Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia at Flagstaff House.
The Vice President said government is committed to the elimination of child trafficking in the country.
He commended the International Justice Mission for its continuous support to curb the menace.
He said government is adopting a holistic approach by engaging all stakeholders to chart a way forward.
