GBC Appeals To CJ To Set Up Special Court To Deal With TV License Defaulters

The Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Dr. Kwame Akuffo Anoff-Ntow has made a special request to the Chief Justice (CJ), Sophia Akuffo to help with the establishment of a special court that will deal with TV license defaulters.

Dr. Anoff-Ntow who paid a courtesy call on the Chief Justice asked her to assist in the enforcement of the law and develop a strategy to roll out the TV License collection.

He also called on the Police and Judicial Service who are stakeholders to support the move.

The Chief Justice called on the media to broadcast programmes that will create public awareness. She also asked them to be sensitive to issues regarding the Judiciary and the kind of information they publish on members.

The Judicial Service asked GBC to submit a formal request for the special court in order for it to be granted.
