Deputy Trade Minister Commends Melcom For Creating Jobs For Ghanaians

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Robert Ahomka Lindsey has commended the Melcom Group for creating jobs for hundreds of Ghanaians.
According to him, NPP government led by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, promise to establish factories in every District and create enabling environment for private businesses to strive is moving steadily.
He stated, "you're aware, this government has a very clear strategy on job creation and we know that, the best way is done, is through industrial transformation, that why we've One-Factory and One-District.
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has also started 'planting for and jobs', all these policies are designed to ensure that we create more jobs in Ghana".
Speaking at the official opening of 38th Melcom Branch at Achimota, Mr. Ahomka, revealed that, one of the key areas of intervention to support entrepreneurs Domestic Retail Trade, explaining that, "that's the environment within which we trade in Ghana.
We want to make that environment a more nourishing, fulfilling and enjoyable for a Ghanaian shopper".
He however, challenged the retail shops operators in the Country to upgrade their physical structures, in order to make shopping environments safe, to avert fire disasters.
The Director of Communications for the Group, Godwin Avenorgbo, in his address, stressed the point that, the new four-storey Achimota Melcom building has met, internationally accepted standards, for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all the business premises, adding that, "the edifice reinforced concrete structure, concrete roof top with parapet walls, purposely designed to serve as a roof top patio".
According to him, the reinforcements were installed in accordance with the structural design.
This building has been duly constructed as per the approved structure design. He assured.
The renowned Broadcaster, said, "Melcom is creating jobs and upgrading the skills of Ghanaians to take up commanding heights of the Company.
Melcom Limited now operates in all ten Regional Capitals and we are extending services to the Metropolitan Areas and Districts".
The Group Chairman, Bhagwan Khagwan, was grateful to Ghanaians for patronizing Melcom products, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of the business in Ghana.
