IGP Orders Central Regional Command To Investigate Alleged Defilement Case of 4-yr-old

The Inspector General of Police has directed the Central Regional Command to take over the defilement case of a 4-year old girl at Assin Adadientem in the Assin Fosu District of the Central Region for investigation.
The police administration says its attention has been drawn to reports of the defilement and action/inaction of Police in that area.
According to the Police, the investigation will focus on how to save the child, whether Police procedures were duly followed and generally ensuring that justice is done.
The police in a statement signed by Director/Public Affairs, DSP Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman on Thursday, October 26 said a police clinical Psychologist, attached to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit [DOVVSU] in Accra has also been assigned to assist the process.
The Police Administration is therefore assuring the public that any person who is found culpable of wrongdoing, including Police Officers would be dealt with according to law.
Meanwhile, the mother of a 4-year-old girl defiled by a community member at Assin Adadientem in the Central Region is calling for justice.
Distressed Monica Nyarko has accused a chief in the area of obstructing justice as she alleges the chief told her action cannot be taken against the accused.
According to her, the chief told her the community gods say the suspect is innocent.
The victim who was defiled on October 14, 2017, is unable to stand nor walk and the gruesome act is taking a toll on her health.
