Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful is proposing that students in Senior High schools be allowed to use mobile phones

Some parents have disagreed with the proposal to allow the use of mobile phones by students in SHS and at the JHS levels.

This was the outcome of Radio Ghana's vox pop on some principal streets of Accra to get the opinions of parents on the proposal by the Minister for Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, on the need to allow students to use mobile phones while in school.

The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful is proposing that students in Senior High schools be allowed to use mobile phones.

Her proposal is in direct contrast with GES regulations which ban the use of mobile phones in second cycle schools.

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said mobile devices aid learning and a complete ban is a disincentive.
