The hustle businesses and individuals go through to register their activities to acquire a certificate at the Registrar General's Department is now history.
This follows the successful launch of the e-Certificate portal which will see the issuance of certificates online for the registration of businesses, marriage, estate administration and online payments.
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia said govt has embraced technology as the importance of ICT cannot be overemphasized in building a buoyant economy.
He reiterated government's commitment to make Ghana the preferred destination for doing business stressing that government will also coordinate with Parliament to speed up passage of the new Company Act.
The e-Certificate platform is an end to end registration portal developed and deployed by GCNet for the Registrar General's Department as part of the broad World Bank sponsored e-Gov project.
The e-Certificate has been designed to provide flexibility, transparency and accountability for Ghanaians.
This is to also encourage a paperless registration and tax regime aimed at significantly reducing administrative and operational overhead costs while maximising revenue mobilisation for accelerated development.
Vice President Bawumia said government wants to formalized the economy hence embarking on various projects such as the National Addressing System and the Paperless ports.
He indicated that the success if these initiatives will translate into a reduction in the interest rate in the long term.
