President Akufo-Addo Receives First Ghana ID Card Under New System Today

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be the first to be receive a new national ID card under the new identification management system.
This was disclosed last Friday when the Acting Executive Secretary of the NIA, Professor Ken A. Attafuah launched the card in Accra.
“We are pleased to announce that the president will be with us this Friday and be the first person to receive the first Ghana card under the new identification system.” Prof. Attafuah has said.
According to Professor Ken A. Attafuah, roll out will begin with the security agencies in Accra then to the schools, the banking sector and the entire Greater Accra populace.
The registration will subsequently move to the central region, the western region, Bono-Ahafo Region then subsequently to all other regions across the country.
Ghanaian citizens resident in other countries will not be left out as they can also register and acquire the card t a fee.
The new ID card will bring to an end the era of multiple ID cards for a single Ghanaian and will be referred to as "Ghana Cards", the new identification cards will capture all ten fingers bio-metrically. That's accoding to the acting NIA Boss.
