President Akufo-Addo Calls For Depoliticization Of Free SHS

President Akufo Addo has called to an end of the Politicisation of the free SHS policy as he officially announces the beginning of the implementation of the policy today.
The policy which is expected to lift the financial burden on parents will see government=take care of tuition, examination fees, admission fees and will provide free meal to first year students among others.
President Akufo Addo acknowledged implementation challenges but declared the policy is here to stay and will not fail.
After eight years of continuous promise to provide Free Senior High School, the NPP led by President Akufo Addo has officially launched the program to fulfill another manifesto promise after the successful launch of the one district one factory policy.
The idea to provide free SHS was ridiculed, and was described by propagandists as a vote-buying gimmick.
The then Presidential candidate of the NPP was labeled a liar by his opponents, who went on to state that Free SHS could only be possible in 20 years’ time.
But the NPP believed the implementation of the policy was possible and campaign with it in the run up to the 2016 election which resulted in the decisive victory.
President Akufo Addo did not minced words when he summed up what motivated him to provide free SHS.
One lingering issues that has cauterized the free SHS debate is funding.
Some civil society and political parties have questioned its sustainability. President Akufo Addo has answers to such critics.

Party supporters thronged the West Africa Senior High school to support President Akufo with the launch.
They carried chop box, trunk and wore school uniforms with others holding placards with inscriptions Nana Addo is a Gift to Ghana, Free SHS is FREE, Education is not a privilege but a right among others.
The widely acclaimed slogan for the Free SHS is "ALL YOU NEED IS To BATH."
