NCTE warns tertiary institutions against charging unapproved fees

The University for Development Studies, UDS, is reported to be charging unapproved fees this academic year.

The Leader of student Activists at the school Abdul Rahim Tuzie made this known on GBC`S 'Behind the News.'

He said the school is flouting the directive by the National Council for Tertiary Education, not to increase fees for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Mr Ibrahim Tuzie said he has petitioned NCTE to investigate the allegation that the University is charging unapproved fees.

Speaking to the issue, the Executive Secretary of NCTE, Professor Mohammed Salifu denied allegations by some students that UDS is charging unapproved fees.

He said by their investigations, all tertiary institutions are conforming to the directive not to charge unapproved fees.

Prof. Salifu warned recalcitrant schools.
