Zimbabwe's ruling Zanu-PF party is organising a March and rally in Harare to show support for the First Lady Grace Mugabe, who has received condemnation after she assaulted a 20 year old South African model.
Following a police report by the model Grace Engels, the First Lady was granted diplomatic immunity by the South African authorities in a move that was criticised by human rights organisations in both Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Zanu-PF's political commissioner for Harare Province, Shadreck Mashayamombe, says the procession would culminate into a rally at the party's headquarters in downtown Harare.
President Mugabe and his wife are expected to address the Zanu-PF supporters, who are reportedly set to be drawn from all the country’s provinces.
