All Port users have been issued with biometric identifications for easy clearance of goods.
This forms part of preparations by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, GPHA, towards the implementation of the paperless system starting September 1.
The Acting Marketing and Public Relations Manager of GPHA, Esther Gyebi-Donkor, said this in an interview with Radio Ghana.
She said those with the biometric ID Card are expected to indicate the ID number on the GCNet Platform to make the request for their cargo to be delivered to them.
Meanwhile, freight forwarders in Tema have kicked against the September 1 scheduled date for the implementation of the Paperless Port initiative.
They are calling for more education before its implementation to prevent any confusion at the Port.
Speaking to Journalists at the Customs Division in Tema, the Freight Forwarders who wore red bands accused the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, GPHA, of not being up to the task.
