The National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO, says it is ready to deal with an influx of refugees from Togo when it occurs.
There is heightening tension in Togo following continuous violent protest against the reign of the Gnassingbe family.
Opposition parties want President Faure Gnassingbe to step down to end a 50 year dynasty.
There are fears that this could lead to a major conflict which may displace a lot of Togolese.
Some might find their way into the country as was the case a decade ago.
But the Volta Regional Head of NADMO, Divine Bosson said there is no cause for alarm at this stage.
According to him, NADMO in collaboration with other agencies are monitoring the situation keenly and putting in place contingency measures to deal with any eventuality.
