Alavanyo, Nkonya and Kpatinga Curfew renewed

The curfew hours imposed on Kpatinga and its environs have been renewed from 1200 hours midnight to 0400 hours effective, today Friday, August 25.
The Alavanyo and Nkonya townships are from 2000 hours to 0530 hours, effective Sunday, August 27.
A statement signed by the Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery, said the curfew hours were renewed on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and the Volta Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument respectively.
It urged the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth in the curfew areas to use the established mechanisms to resolve all conflicts and disputes.
The statement reiterated the ban on all persons in the towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and that anyone found with weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
