The Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA together with the Bureau of National Investigations have embarked on a close invoice assessment drive.
This is to take possession of and have access to the records of some businesses in Accra which have been noted to have committed some tax infractions in regard to the proper issuance of VAT/NHIL invoices.
Addressing the media prior to the exercise, the Coordinator of the Special Revenue Mobilisation Task Force of the Authority, Henry Branford Sam, indicated that an undercover test purchase by the Bureau of National Investigations revealed that the offences include not only non-issuance of VAT/NHIL, but issuance of own invoices without prior approval from the Authority too.
