Government is to spend one hundred million dollars to build three major bridges in the Northern Region.
The projects include the construction of a new bridge over the White Volta at Daboya to provide an alternative link between Sahelian countries, the Northern and Upper East regions and the rest of the country.
New bridges will also be built over the Black and White Volta's at Buipe and Yapei.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako Attah announced this when he inspected broken bridges at Nalerigu in the Northern Region and the Tande bridge at Garu in the Upper East Region.
The collapse of the two bridges has slowed down economic activities along the Northern stretch of the Eastern Corridor.
When the Minister arrived at Nalerigu, workers were busy dialoging the steel bridge to be rebuilt as a temporary measure.
