The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, Kwabena Nsenkyire, together with some of his staff and Agricultural Officers, have visited some maize farms invaded by fall army worms at Nsuta in the Sekyere Central District of Ashanti.

The team sprayed experimental chemicals that proved effective in destroying the worms within three seconds of contact.

The Chemical, 'Agrigold', was produced by a Ghanaian group, 'Thinkers Technology' and is being tried for its potency by NADMO in controlling army worms on crops and cocoa farms in parts of the country.
