The Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP George Alex Mensah, has commended the security personnel for their dedication to duty during the Easter festivities on the Kwahu Ridge especially the Paragliding at the Odweanoma Mountains near Atibie and Nkawkaw.

He noted that the successful durbars, street jams and other fun fairs showed that everything went on smoothly.

ACP Mensah said the stringent measures put in place by the Regional Security Council yielded fruitful results.

According to him, the security personnel including the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate, (MTTD) began their services from the Bunso Junction which served as the Check Point for the driving public especially those going to the Kwahu Ridge and worked tirelessly from dusk to dawn.

They also banned unlicensed plates on motorbikes and vehicles which led to accident free Easter on the Kwahu Ridge.

He appealed to the public to cooperate with the police to continue maintaining law and order in the society for peace to prevail.

ACP Mensah was however, unhappy that a suicidal report has cropped up on the Ridge just after the Easter celebration.

According to him,a 25 year old artisan hanged himself at Mpraeso in the Kwahu South District of the region and has been deposited at the Atibie Government Hospital mortuary
for autopsy while the police investigates the Circumstances that led to the incident.
