Reports say, at least three students have been stabbed at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), following a clash between some students of the University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

One student who was returning from night studies is reportedly paralysed as a result of several stabs he received from his attackers.

An eye witness narrated that some residents of Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana and Unity Hall from KNUST who had been invited for a programme at Oguaa Hall at UCC, ended up attacking one another after a misunderstanding.

Although, he does not know the true cause of the misunderstanding, the witness said the incident became intense after some residents of ATL hall also joined the skirmishes.

Several properties worth thousands of cedis belonging to Oguaa hall are reportedly destroyed. The hall's bus and vehicles belonging to some lecturers were all vandalised.

A contingent of police and military personnel have been dispatched to the campus to stop any possible reprisal and to maintain peace.
