Local Government Minister-designate suggests establishment of sanitation fund

The Minister designate for Local Government, Hajia Alima Mahama has expressed the need for a sanitation fund and the collection of sanitation fees from those who will fail to observe sanitation practices.

Speaking on GBC`s Current Affairs Program, "Behind The News", Hajia Mahama said this will help curb sanitation challenges facing the country.

Hajia Alima Mahama promised to bring governance close to the people and ensure full participation in the governance structure.

She assured to oversee the election of District Chief Executives, (DCEs) and Municipal Chief Executives, (MCEs) as proposed by the New Patriotic Party, (NPP).
