Rangers FC qualifies to Division league after beating Unique FC

Rangers FC from Akuapem Mampong defeated Unique FC by eight goals to seven on penalties, to book a ticket to the National Division One League, in the upcoming football season.

The match, ended one all in regulation time, with no extra time sending the game to a straight penalty shootout.

The first half of the game ended goalless, with little to choose from both teams but it was Phar Rangers FC which created all the decent chances,but failed to find the opener.

Just two minutes into the second half, Evans Adomako broke the deadlock, when he beat a defender of Unique FC to register the first goal of the match .

Their lead lasted for only eight minutes, when a penalty awarded to Unique FC was converted by Stephen Acquah in the 55th minute to bring the game to a one all draw.

Two players of Phar Rangers FC , Daniel Odei and Daniel Agyei were sent off the field in the 61st and 72nd minute of the game respectively for indiscipline conduct against the referee.

The decision to replay the middle league finals was based on the Regional Football Asssociation Disciplinary Committee's ruling, which directed the Middle League Committee to replay the finals within seven days.

The first final match failed to produce a winner at the Oda Sports Stadium when an 108th minute penalty awarded against Phar Rangers FC,ended the second half of the extra time,when Phar Rangers players protested against the penalty which resulted in the end of the match .

The Disciplinary Committee fined Phar Rangers FC club Gh¢600.00 for their poor behaviour and three of their players, Justice Ayoma, Evans Adomako and Stephen Wiredu were fined ¢200.00 each for assulting the referee.

Unique FC for losing the finals settles for an FA Cup slot along side, Akosombo FC , BS Pelicans of Nsawam , Akroso Royals FC and Believers FC of Bepong.
